Silver and gold mineralization were first discovered on Hasbrouck Mountain in 1902. Early mining exploited the Kernick vein, which was worked on a small-scale through the mid-1920s. The Hasbrouck Project consists of the Hasbrouck and the Three Hills deposits and surrounding land package. A pre-feasibility study was completed for the Hasbrouck Project in 2016, and assumes Phase-1 production for two years at the Three Hills Mine followed by Phase-2 production for six years at the Hasbrouck Mine. The Phase-1 Three Hills Mine is fully permitted and permitting work is underway for the Phase-2 Hasbrouck Mine.
Royal Gold holds a 1.5% net smelter return royalty (gold, silver) on Hasbrouck Mountain.
Royal Gold acquired this royalty as part of its acquisition of International Royalty Corporation, which was completed on February 22, 2010.
